Another case of workplace violence involving a Filipino nurse happened at a hospital in Madina, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, May 17.
A security video that is now viral online shows an Arab patient stabbing a male nurse with yet unidentified object resulting to arm injuries of the health worker.
In the video, the unnamed Filipino health worker is talking to a colleague and doing tasks inside the nurse station when an Arab man went inside the station counter and started to hit the nurse multiple times. Other health workers in the area intervened to stop the atack, which left the nurse’s arms profusely bleeding. Watch (Warning: Graphic Video):
According to some commenters who have knowledge of the assault, the Arab who attacked the Pinoy male nurse was reported irate two days prior to this incident. He alleged that he was given the wrong medication on his prescription, which was later proven by the staff to be correct.
UPDATE: The Filipino nurse named Roland Mina said in separate post that the patient was irate because the former rejected his request for medication without prescription, for his own safety.
Hospital management and authorities are still investigating the incident, and the nurse is still recuperating with his injury. [With reports from NurseUpdates.com | Video first uploaded by Lino Sinapuelas Sabanal]
