Nurse killed in Bacolod car crash

A 24-year-old nurse died after his car crashed on a tree, Friday morning at the highway in front of Fr. Gratian Murray Integrated School (Boy’s Home) at Barangay Granada in Bacolod City.

According to the investigation, Dix Icon Ridge Villa who was working at Riverside Medical Center was on his way home in Barangay Alangilan when his black Honda sedan crashed into a mahogany tree on the wayside.

The collision was so strong that the front and back of the car was severely damaged and its engine parts tossed 10 meters away and hit parked motorcycles nearby.

The victim was brought to the nearby hospital but was declared dean on arrival.

Senior Insp. Romulo Gepilango, chief of Police Station 5, said Villa may not have seen the broken road so it hit the tree.

Gepilango added that they are also looking at the possibility that the driver was drunk or fell asleep while on the wheel. (Photo by Ryan Christian Gatoc of i-FM943)
