ANSAP is on the spotlight recently after Department of Health (DOH) undersecretary Roger Tong-An said during the PNA National Convention 2016 that nurses need not renew their IVT card.
Nursing community welcomed the announcement, saying that the training for IVT card renewal is unnecessary and just a burden for overworked and underpaid nurses.
In the official statement posted in their Facebook page, Ansap president Maria Linda Buhat said that the IVT certification is here to stay, enumerating 7 reasons why.
"Nurses must be trained on IVT to protect not only nurses but also nursing service administrators who always become liable with the former when something goes wrong in the administration of intravenous injections. And IVT is a must not only for safe and quality nursing practice but also for safe quality patient care," Buhat said.
ANSAP has 310 providers and 452 trainors from the provider-hospitals nationwide, and a total of 328,198 registered nurses certified for IVT.
