FYI: How to remove a ring on a swollen finger

Patients with swollen fingers and other finger injuries have some trouble removing their precious rings and most of the time resorted to cutting it off. Here's a nice trick to do it without damaging your prized jewelry.

Dr. Simon Carley, a Professor of Emergency Medicine who once had a patient with a swollen finger and ring she wore for 55 years, shows us how to perform it together with his colleagues.

They used an elastic string of an oxygen mask to tie it on the swollen finger, making it compressed and aiding in pulling out the ring without cutting it off. Watch the video.
