One of the attendees in the recent 10th MDCON Research Congress held in Manila Tytana Colleges on January 18 said that BON Member Dr. Glenda S. Arquiza announced that they intend to require 60 units, more than the required 45 units by PRC.
Arquiza explained that the 45-unit requirement is just a minimum standard of PRC, and it is up to the discretion of each Professional Regulatory Board to add to that requirement.
Regarding the CPD Unit Credits, Section 19 of PRC Resolution No. 2016-990 states that "Registered and licensed professionals shall complete the required units every three (3) years as specified in Annex A (Credit Units Required per Profession) or as specified in their Professional Regulatory Law or as provided by the PRB and the Commission that may be issued."

The BON will also see to it that in-service trainings with CPD units shall be provided by the institutions at no cost to employed nurses.
"A nurse with no update is a dangerous nurse. We must not look at this CPD units as a burden instead an opportunity to learn new things," said Arquiza.

Sana i-consider nyo naman ang mga nurses na iba ang line of work dahil hindi makapasok ng hospitals dahil sa kagustuhan nyo rin dati ng magkaroon muna ng volunteerism sa hospital. Hindi dahil wala sa hospital ay dangerous nurse na. Exposure lang ang wala pero yung utak, talino na inaral ng 4 na taon naisapuso na yan namin kaya paano naging dangerous nurse yun? hahayaan ba na yung inasam asam na license ay basta na lang mawala kung hindi iingatan ang patients?? this is stupid sobra. Hindi ako pessimistic but what you're doing with nurses is really too much sobrang sobra na talaga. Dati after graduation excited ang mga nurses mag work at maka gain ng experience but nag implement kayo na kailangan maging volunteer hanggang sa ang iba gaya ko di na nakapasok dahil sa sobrang dami ng nurses di na kaya i accomodate ng hospitals. kaya nag iba ng line of work tapos ngayon to renew license CPD units naman?????
ReplyDeletethe intention is good but with the pressing issue of salary standardisation of nurses in the Philippines needs to be appraised first. How much is 1 CME units by the way? if you get 60 CME units you might as well consider increasing the validity year of licenses to cover expenses incurred during the renewal. what is the reason for having 60 and 40 is considered minimum? research proof please. i get it, you want your nurses to have some "safe practice" requirement. that is good...but for those who are working in their field...why the hell you need CME units. I would agree without contention if these project is to be offered free,,,well and good. but with the meager income of nurses in the Philippines, this would take almost half of their "take home pay", take the reality...tuition ng mga bata, daily needs vs CME units...wow and bigat naman nito. pag arala nyo muna bago iimplement please lan. kawawa na nga mga nurses natin, huhugutan nyo naman ulit ng lifeline. SOBRA.

ReplyDeletesana if employed, on official time ang ibiggay para di na mabawasan ang leave credits namin kasi sayang naman.. and besides wala naman sa hospital nagwowork.. :( sana mapagaralan ulit yan.

ReplyDeleteThis is so unreasonable. Please considerate every individual, hindi lahat may trabaho. Yung iba nagagamit nila yung license nila in other field of work kc nga sa mga hospital sa pilipinas ay hindi sapat ang sahod. Dapat alam nyo yan at dapat nagsusurvey kayo nang mga nurses at sana iconsider nyo din paghihirap nila at ngaun magdadagdag pa kayo ng other burden sa kapwa nurses nyo?? Please review the pros and cons hindi basta basta nalang maglalabas ng ganito. Super hirap na ng buhay ng nurses. Tama na pahirap. Kelangan natin work hand and hand not adding burden on your colleagues. Hoping our comments can change your decisions
ReplyDeleteKalokohan talaga yan. parang naiisip mong nagiging negosyo na yan ng PRC.Tanong lang, batas na ba talaga yan? Sorry, nahuhuli na ata ako. Ang problema lang diyan, kung may seminar man, di pa sa lugar niyo, kalimitan sa Manila o ibang cities na malayo sa inyo. Paano kung taga probinsiya ka, patay ka sa gastusin, pasahe, tirahan, registration (priorities man!!). Ok kung libre o may magsponsor. Kung magkaroon man ng seminar sa probinsiya, paminsan-minsan lang o wala, ang masaklap pa eh ang liit ng CPD unit ang ibinibigay. Malaki ba binabayaran para malaki value ng CPD units earned para seminar? Puwede ba i-extend din ng five years ang validity ng PRC liscene para kahit paminsan lang seminar sa inyo mabobuo mo rin ang 45 o 60 units na hindi ka gagstos ng malaki. Kahit mga doctor nahihirapan din, mataas sahod mo, mahal/malaki naman din pasahe o ibang bayaran , bale patas lang. Bakit kasi di na lang i-require ang mga institution ,na magconduct na lang ng mga semibar sa kanilang mga hospital. May training officer dapat bawat hospital sa bawat division. At itong mga seminar dabat budgetan ng gobyerno para pabayad sa mga lecturer, venue o pagkain. Mas konti ang gagastohin kung lecturer ang pupunta sa lugar niyo.Mas marami ang mag aatend niyan kung ilalapit sa tao ang mga seminar na yan.Panawagan sa gumawa ng panukalang ito, "GAWAN NIYO ITO NG BUDGET". Pagkaalam ko, puwede ka namang mag update ng knowledge thru readings sa mga bagong edition ng LIBRO o sa INTERNET mismo. Bahala na kung tama pinagsasabi ko dito, ang alam ko eh, galit ako. PIN PRC!!! ReplyDelete45 units nga nahihirapan na kaming kunin. Buti sana kung sa span ng 3 yrs effectiveness ng license namin eh ma complete lahat pero impossible na. Di nyo na inintinda yung ibang nurses na may pamilyang sinusuportahan, dagdag gastos at problema pa. Sumusobra na po kayo. Wag nyo pong salubungin galit ng karamihan maam arquiza. SANA HINDI NA LANG AKO NAG NURSE. SHAME!
ReplyDeleteThey should have think of poverty alleviation program first before enacting and implementing this law.. This is sort of taking advantage from professionals.. Professionals are already capable, knowledgeable, and competent in various way,they can acquire this necessary skills in or out of their line or career but shouldn't become burden to them. No, I contend that nurses without update are dangerous.you know what dangerous is, you and the government.. Please find social justice for this. I abhorred this.

ReplyDeleteThis is as stupid as the senator who proposed this. what the hell are they thinking? they cant even provide work for the number of jobless nurses in the country nor give proper salary grading to UNDERPAID and OVERWORKED nurses and all they think about is how to earn money. The intent is good, but they should learn from the past. There is a reason why cpd requirement was removed in the first place. It became a business for MOST.
